Urgent need to halt the proposed increase in electricity tariff by the electricity DisCos.

Yesterday, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong alongside, Senators Yunus Akintude from Oyo Central and Aminu Abbas from Adamawa Central, co-sponsored a motion on the urgent need to halt the proposed increase in electricity tariff by the electricity DisCos.

The Senate unanimously resolved that the FGN must intervene and halt the proposed tariff increase. The Senate further resolved that NERC reconsiders the rate review, taking into consideration the interest of citizens, affordability and the need to mitigate the growing inflationary pressures.
