According to a report from Thenationonline, the court found Nwakaego guilty on a two-count charge of cyberstalking but considered her remorse and offered an alternative: paying a N150,000 fine instead of serving time. The charge stated that Nwakaego and an accomplice, Chimabia (now at large), conspired between December 2022 and July 2023 to commit the offence. Nwakaego, the TikToker in one of her viral videos had said: “Eniola Badmus is a Professional Pimp, she connects small small girls to Big Politicians all over Nigeria.” They transmitted offensive and false communication via TikTok, Gossipmill TV, remedy blog, and other social media networks, using Nwakaego’s mobile number, with the aim of causing annoyance, inconvenience, and harm to the reputation of Eniola Badmus. The case, which violated sections 24(1)(b)(2)(a)(c) and 27 of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015, was prosecuted by Nosa Uhumwangho. During the proceedings, Nwakaego admitted to making the false video prompted by a male friend. He had narrated a fabricated story about Eniola Badmus, leading her to create the maligning video. For her actions, she received N200,000 from her friend, who then encouraged her to post it on TikTok, attracting viewers online.
