“Delta Police Apprehend Man with 250 Live Cartridges Disguised in Bag: Arrest Made on Benin/Asaba Expressway”
Delta State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, announced on August 6, 2023, that a 46-year-old man named Omoruyi Osemudiamen had been apprehended after being found in possession of 250 rounds of live cartridges concealed within a bag. The arrest occurred during a routine patrol by the Dragon Patrol unit along the Benin/Asaba Expressway in Issele-Uku. The suspect was taken into custody and identified as the owner of the bag. The investigation is currently underway.

In another incident, acting on a tip-off, a combined team of the Bufallo and Eagle-Net Special Squad conducted an operation on August 3, 2023, along Summit Road in Asaba. During the operation, they apprehended a 23-year-old man named James Moro and seized a locally fabricated pump action gun from him. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had been using the gun for nighttime robberies in the area. The investigation into this case is also ongoing.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass, urged the public to remain vigilant and proactive in the face of security challenges. He encouraged individuals to report cases of kidnapping and other security-related issues to the police, assuring them that culprits would be arrested and brought to justice.
