Tragic Suicide: Newlywed Photographer Takes His Own Life in Jigawa State

In a heartbreaking incident, a 30-year-old man named Usman Sani Goga has taken his own life in the Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State. The deceased, who worked as a photographer and had been married for just four months, was discovered hanging in his bedroom on Wednesday at Akula Quarters.

CSC. Adamu Shehu, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in the state, confirmed the incident. According to Shehu, the deceased had dropped off his wife at a relative’s house on that fateful day around 2:00 PM, promising to pick her up later in the evening.

The motive behind Goga’s tragic action remains unknown, and an investigation is currently underway to uncover the reasons behind his untimely death. The circumstances surrounding his suicide have left the community in shock and disbelief.

Recalling the distressing events, Goga’s wife shared her account, saying, “Around 5:00 PM, I repeatedly called his phone but received no response. Eventually, I decided to take a commercial vehicle home. Upon arrival, I realized I didn’t have the keys and tried calling his phone again, yet there was silence on the other end. With the help of a motorcyclist, I gained access to the house. To my horror, I found my husband’s motorcycle parked, which was highly unusual. As I rushed inside, I discovered his lifeless body hanging from a ceiling fan hook in our bedroom.”

The community mourns the loss of a talented young photographer and expresses deep condolences to the grieving family. As the investigation unfolds, they hope to find answers that may bring some understanding to this tragic event.
