The Defense for Children Organization said on Saturday morning that the number of Palestinian children killed in the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has risen to 614, and this number is likely to increase.
The organization reported in a report on Friday evening that the Israeli raids on Gaza resulted in the killing of 583 children, which represents practically a third of the number of Palestinian casualties since the outbreak of the war last Saturday between Hamas and Israel.
This means that the Israeli bombing claimed the lives of only about 31 children in the last hours.
The organization expected the toll to rise as Israel prevents Palestinians in the besieged Strip from obtaining food, water, electricity, and medical supplies.
The organization’s lawyer and main policy advisor, Brad Parker, says:
“Widespread and organized attacks accompanied the Israeli statements carried out by the Israeli army, raising fears that what is taking place is a genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people .”
He added, ” The Israeli attacks have reached such intensity that it appears that they are intentionally killing the most significant number of Palestinians in Gaza, and this is accompanied by comprehensive closure policies, all of which aim to destroy life in Gaza.
According to figures from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, reported by the official Palestinian Wafa Agency, the Israeli army killed 1,951 Palestinians and injured 6,500 others in Gaza during eight days of war.
As for the West Bank , the army has killed 51 Palestinians since the beginning of the war, including 16 people yesterday, Friday, including children, while the number of wounded rose to 650 people.
