Ondo State House of Assembly has screened and ratified Dr Olayide Adelami as deputy governor.
The ratification was done during a plenary presided over by the speaker Mr Olamide Oladiji
Clerk of the house Mr Benjamin Jaiyeola read the nomination letter written by the governor Mr lucky Ayedatiwa.
The house committee had earlier screened Dr. Adelami for the position.
Submitting the report, the deputy speaker Prince Abayomi Akinruntan Said during the screening that Dr. Adelami was confirmed to be a man of reputable character, well exposed, physically and mentally fit for the position hence the confirmation of the deputy governor designate.
Dr Adelami in a response thanked Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa for giving him the opportunity to serve.
Dr Adelami said his appointment was a call of duty as he promised to work for the development of the Ondo state and the country at large and at the same time promote harmonious relationship between the executive and the legislature.
The deputy governor emphasized that the executive arm needed the support of the people of ondo state in order to perform for the development of the state.
In the words of the speaker Mr Oladiji, the task before the executive and other arms of government was enormous and cannot afford to fail.
Mr. Oladiji pledged the support of the legislature stressing that with the confirmation of Dr. Adelami, the stage had been set for the rapid development of Ondo state
The hallow chamber was packed filled with invited guests, traditional rulers,party members who had come to grace the occasion.
