National Examinations Council NECO, has released its results for the 2023 Senior Secondary Certificate of Education SSCE with 1,013,611 (84.68%) candidates scoring 5 Credits irrespective of English and Mathematics.
The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Dantali Ibrahim Wushishi made the official announcement at the NECO headquarters in Minna, saying that a total of 737,308 (61.60%) candidates scored 5 Credits including English and Mathematics.
He maintained that 1,205,888 candidates registered for the examination but 1,196,985 candidates actually sat for the exams, hence the release of the results in 58 days after the last paper of the examination.
Professor Wushishi, while giving the breakdown stated that out of candidates that sat for the exams consisted of 616,398 were males while 580,587 were females just as candidates with special needs was 1,542 respectively.
He added that 12,030 (0.07%) candidates were involved in various examination malpractices against the 13,594 (0.13%) candidates involved in 2022.
The Registrar explained that the 2023 NECO SSCE internal has been certified the best in recent times while he applauded the federal ministry of education and the minister for the support received which contributed enormously to achieving the feat.
