Against the misinformation by some media organizations that the rehabilitation of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State was done by the Lagos State Government (LASG), the Honourable Minister of Works, Engr Dave Umahi has cleared the air on the misrepresentation and informed that the rehabilitation was done by the Federal Government (FG), as directed by President Ahmed Tinubu, adding that it has been open for use.
This was contained in a press release from the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media, Barr Orji Uchenna Orji and made available to media houses on Sunday.
Representing Mr President, Umahi made the disclosure when Mr President commended the leaders of South East (SE) for their efforts in harnessing their collective knowledge and relationships to advance developmental ideals and robust democratic governance in the area at the burial ceremony of late Deaconess Theresa Osinachi Omoke, the mother of the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement, South East, Barr. (Mrs) Chioma Nweze.
Thanking the SE people for their support of Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda (RHA), he said: “I want to send a message of thanks from Mr. President to the people of SE, for their support. I want to thank the governors and appreciate them for their support, which is beyond party lines. In a very short moment, SE leaders will come together to appreciate Mr. President, and let Nigerians and the world know that we stand with his RHA.
Hailing Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of the state, for peace, security and development in the State, Umahi had this to say: “You have taken every challenge of Ebonyi State as the challenge of the people, and you have advanced the people’s charter of needs. The President is very excited about your performances.”
In his condolence message, he described the late mother of the SSA as a woman with exemplary virtues who made immeasurable contributions to the advancement of the cause of humanity, just as he enjoined her and the entire Omoke family to take solace in the accomplishments of her age. “I condole with you and the entire Omoke family on the death of your beloved mother, who sadly passed away on 18th of December, 2023 at the age of 75”.
In his address, the governor thanked Mr. President for his fatherly disposition to all the States of the federation, which according to him has renewed the hope of Nigerians in actualizing positive trajectories in the political and socio-economic history of the nation.
Consoling the deceased family and praying for the repose of her soul, he said: “The State Government will build a befitting pavilion in this field, which shall be named after the late mother of Barr. (Mrs) Chioma Nweze. The road leading to this field will be constructed as a mark of honour to late Deaconess (Mrs) Theresa Osinachi Omokeโ
