Thief forced to eat raw chicken that he stole

A thief has found himself facing an unusual punishment, forced to eat a raw chicken by a merciless group of vigilantes.

The incident occurred when the thief, after being nabbed, allegedly said he was desperate because he was afraid of “January disease,” a colloquial term that refers to the financial strain many experience at the beginning of the year after spending a lot during the festive season.

They presented him with a tough choice: either he consume the chicken raw or endure a severe beating.

Faced with limited options, the thief reluctantly opted for the former, subjecting himself to a surreal spectacle witnessed by a crowd of onlookers, who captured the entire ordeal on their phones cameras.

According to an eyewitness and resident of Pumula suburb, the thief’s consumption of the uncooked chicken was a distressing sight.

“With blood dripping from the corner of his lips, he would occasionally cough out a feather or two as he screwed up his face like someone swallowing the bitterest gall. The beatings, somehow, were worse for him as he ate the obviously unpalatable meal to stop them. I think he will never eat chicken or white meat again, for as long as he lives,” A resident of Pumula suburb in Bulawayo told Idannews

The unidentified thief’s desperate pleas for leniency were met with little sympathy from the group that caught him.
