Nollywood actor allegedly shot by Ogun police officer, ‘it was accidentally’ –Police

Nigerian Nollywood actor, movie director and producer, Azeez Ololade Ijaduade on Sunday reportedly shot by a Policeman in Iperu, Ogun State.

This was disclosed in a midnight Instagram story from his colleague, Abiodun Adebanjo, @iamabiodunadebanjo.

Adebanjo said actor Ijaduade is currently battling for his life at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital.

The post reads: “Please we need help in Iperu. My director, Azeez Ijaduade, @kingzeez1, was shot by a Nigeria Police personnel.

“He is presently at Babcock University Teaching Hospital.

“Anybody with the contacts of the Police IG or Commissioner should reach out.”

Meanwhile, The Ogun State Police Command in its reaction through Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said the victim was hit by a shot that was mistakenly discharged by a police officer.

The command said that one of its officers attached to the executives of Bramajaj Company Limited, Ogere Remo, “accidentally discharged a shot from his rifle” during the end-of-year party of the company at the same hotel where Ijaduade and his crew members, and other actors were having a movie shoot and the shot hit the Nollywood actor’s neck.

Police further noted that the actor was said to be currently responding to treatment.

“The victim is currently in a stable condition,” Odutola said.
