The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has boycotted a meeting organized by the minister of labour and employment, Simon Lalong to prevent what could deter their two-day nationwide warning strike billed to commence on Tuesday.

The minister had earlier summoned the meeting which was scheduled for 3 p.m. on Monday.

IdanNews gathered that the meeting started at exactly 5:32 p.m. with only the leadership of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), led by its president, Festus Osifo, present.

Recall that the NLC, led by its president, Joe Ajaero, had on Friday, directed workers across the country to embark on a two-day warning strike from September 5, over the hardship being faced by Nigerians as effect of fuel subsidy removal.
