Nigeria vs Equatorial Guinea: Peseiro drops Uzoho for Super Eagles’ AFCON 2023 opener

The head coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro has left out Francis Uzoho from his starting XI for their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations opener against Equatorial Guinea this Sunday.

Reports indicate that Stanley Nwabili will start the game.

Nwabili has only one won cap for Nigeria.

However, the 27-year-old is expected to be between the sticks against the Nzalang Nacional at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe Abidjan ahead of Uzoho.

The three-time African champions go into the match in second place, following Ivory Coast’s 2-0 win over Guinea-Bissau on Saturday.

Kick off is 3pm WAT.
