Labour suspends strike after meeting Nuhu Ribadu

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has suspended its nationwide strike after meeting with the National Security Adviser, AIG Nuhu Ribadu.

Recall that NLC, TUC had on Monday ordered all its members and affiliates to commence industrial action across the country on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, to protest the brutalisation of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) president, Comrade Joe Ajaero, in Owerri, the Imo state capital.

However, IdanNews gathered that the decision to suspend the action was reached as a result of a plea by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu.

Ribadu in a meeting with the organized Labour had begged the workers to end the industrial action to allow the issues to be resolved amicably.

A source at the joint NEC meeting of the organized Labour told Blueprint that workers agreed to give Malam Ribadu the benefit of doubt as he pledged to resolve the impasse.
