President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared to give the required support to state governments to Banish Hunger and end economic hardship in the country.

Tinubu gave this assurance when he flagged off tractors and agricultural equipment in Minna, Niger state capital, noting that there is no time for excuses but to take action, reengineering the finances of Nigeria.

He called for understanding. patience. perseverance and consistency as some current policies come with hardship hence the challenges are surmountable in due course, adding that Nigeria must harness its agricultural potential to get out of the present situation.

The president tasked State governors to collaborate, provide the lands, and make adequate provision for cattle rearing to ensure livestock farming in a peaceful environment.

He further urged state governments to commence payment of wage awards pending the new salary wage as a new strategy to relieve the people of the economic hardship being experienced.

President Bola Tinubu applauded the leadership style and capacity of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago in ensuring food security hence the governors were advised to take advantage of the economic opportunities to mitigate arrest problems of cattle rustling and farmers / Harder clashes in Nigeria.

Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State stated that the state has secured $20 million from foreign partners to cultivate 1 million hectares of land where about 50 million metric tons of grains will be harvested by 2030 on 3 million to generate N500 billion annually within 7 years.

Bago noted with satisfaction that over one million direct and indirect jobs for the youth and women in the state hence prioritizing agricultural development and procurement of 1,000 tractors and other equipment while the state is expecting one trillion naira from partnerships.

The governor dares bandits in the state just as he assured that all their forest hideouts would be cultivated to ensure that bandits have no safe place to stay in Niger state.

He revealed that the state government is taking over no fewer than 230 km of federal roads for reconstruction and lamented that his administration inherited infrastructure in comatose and needed to be revived for the taste of a term and commended President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his fatherly role and support to the states government.

Minister of Agriculture, Senator Abubakar Khari however applauded the president on his agricultural policy in Nigeria which the states are keying into as exhibited by the Niger state deserved to be emulated, adding that the federal government has midwives in several foreign partnerships to make Agric more attractive to enhanced food security in the country.
