The Federal Government has extended the Eid-El-Fitr holiday to Thursday April 11, 2024 as addition to the earlier declared 9th and 10th April, to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Dr Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, announced this in a statement on Tuesday.

“The Federal Government has approved Thursday 11th April, 2024 as an additional public holiday to celebrate this year’s Eid -El-Fitr.

“The Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, while congratulating the muslim Ummah for a successful completion of a month of spiritual rejuvenation, reiterates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s (GCFR) firm commitment to providing a safe and prosperous Nigeria for all to thrive,” the statement said.

Recalls that the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saa’d Abubakar had on Monday announced that the 2024 Eid-El-Fitr celebration will now hold on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

The directive followed non sighting of moon across the world to signal the end of the Ramadan.
