The deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu has berated Godwin Obaseki following the conclusion of the state governorship election that saw APC’s Monday Okpebholo emerge victorious.
During a live chat with Arise TV on Sunday, Philip Shaibu revealed how he felt vindicated stating that those who take him as an enemy always have his prayers.
The deputy governor further talked about the successful run of the State’s governorship election that made APC victorious.
He revealed how happy he was for being part of the people who have helped APC regain the seat of the government house in Edo State.
He said: “I am so excited, I have prayed for it and I have worked for it, not only am I excited, but I have also canceled that negative impression and blackmail that has been flying that Philip Shaibu does not win his ward and it’s a lie, I have never lost my ward, I have never lost my unit. I have always won it.
“Today I have the highest vote from my unit in the entire 192 ward and the 400 plus units. In the local government as well, I have the highest number of votes, so those who have been blackmailing can see.
“Even the governor couldn’t win his local government. I won my unit, ward, and local government. Where are the governor’s results? He has never won; we have always assisted him.
“But unfortunately, he got the power, and he decided to start kicking us and removing the ladder. I hope he learns his lessons. What is left now is for him to go back and start begging and apologizing to the people of Edo State” Philip Shaibu stated.
Meanwhile, Ahmadu Umar Fintiri, the Adamawa State Governor, has described the recently concluded Edo State gubernatorial election as shameful.
Fintiri, in a statement, disclosed that the All Progressives Congress in Edo State had allegedly attempted to discredit him by falsely claiming he announced the result of the poll.
The statement read in part, “I weep for Nigeria’s democracy after witnessing the shameful Edo Gubernatorial poll. The APC’s desperate attempts to discredit me by falsely claiming I announced results won’t distract from the real issue.
“What’s truly shameful is APC’s national chairman flying into Edo with a private jet on election day, defying movement restrictions, while their governors used armored escorts to intimidate voters.”
