Appeal court sacks Nasarawa Speaker, Abdullahi
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Tuesday sacked the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdulahi, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Sa’ad Ibrahim, as the validly elected speaker.

Ibrahim Balarabe Abdulahi, (APC)
member is representing the Umaisha-Ugya constituency in the state assembly and Mr Daniel Ogah Ogazi, PDP member is representing the Kokona East constituency.

It was gathered that there had been a battle between the speaker of the state house of assembly, Mr Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, who is representing the Umaisha-Ugya constituency in the state assembly, and Mr Daniel Ogah Ogazi, representing Kokona East constituency, respectively, over the speakership tussle.

However, the crisis in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly had led to the emergence of two speakers, which was later resolved by the state governor Abdulahi Sule, leaving Balarabe as the speaker but being sacked Tuesday by the appeal court.

At the time of filling out this report, the sacked speaker had yet to react to the appeal court verdict.
