The men of Ekiti State Police Command have arrested 10 suspects in connection with the death of a 200-level Nursing student of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State (FUOYE), Atanda Modupe Deborah.
IdanNews had earlier reported that Modupe, a 200-level student of the FUOYE who reportedly went missing while gone to study on the evening of September 4 at the Nursing Department of the institution and was subsequently found dead in a shallow grave on September 6, behind the nursing Lecture Hall.
The public relations officer of the command, Sunday Abutu in a statement said the perpetrators of the evil act would face the wrath of the law and appealed to members of the public to remain calm.
Abutu condoled with the family of the deceased with a vow to punish the perpetrators of the heinous act.
He assured the deceased family of the Commandโs commitment to unravel the mystery behind Deborahโs death and bring perpetrators of the barbaric act to book.
however , in another development, The House of Representatives in a statement signed by its Spokesperson, Hon Akin Rotimi representing Ekiti North (1) (Ikole/Oye) federal constituency condemned the brutal murder of the missing student of Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Atanda Modupe Deborah.
Rotimi called on the Government of Ekiti state, relevant security agencies, and stakeholders in the community to collaborate to fish out the culprits and bring them to book.
โWe owe it to the memory of late Modupe, to ensure our students, and indeed all residents in our communities are safe and secure as they go about their legitimate activities.โ
โIt is through the collective efforts of the community that justice can be swiftly served and a sense of security restored.โ, he said.
