Nigeria defeats Australia 3-2, tops group with 4 points in Women’s World Cup

The Nigeria Super Falcons came from rare to defeat Australia 3-2 in the second group stage match of the Women’s World Cup at Brisbane’s Lang Park.

The Australian team scored the first goal of the match during additional time in the first half, but the opposing Super Falcons scored three goals – one in the first half, and two in the second.

Australian team started strong but was unable to defeat the opposing Super Falcons at Brisbane’s Lang Park.

The Matildas have lost their second group stage match at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, with Nigeria coming out on top at Brisbane’s Lang Park on Thursday.

Australia’s hopes for making it through to the knockout round now hinge on their match against Canada at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium on Monday night.
